Vision and Core Values
Biosphere Capital was founded by a group of people who grew up climbing the mountains of New Zealand, cycling and sailing around Europe, walking the forests of southeast Asia and exploring the wild places of Australia: we fervently want our children, and theirs, to be able to share these experiences.
We believe that the economic arguments in favour of developing a sustainable, low emissions global economy, as articulated in The Stern Review, are valid, important and realistic. We believe that appropriate investments in energy technologies can avoid the potential threats of extreme climate change: we aim to facilitate this process by providing financial, intellectual and social leadership in the communities in which we do business.
Our specific objectives are to help you achieve exceptional financial returns in the context of the low emissions economy. This might be by way of reduced energy usage, novel technologies, carbon offsetting or innovative, sustainable development projects. We therefore hope to contribute to the preservation our beautiful planet while simultaneously providing the quality of life afforded by developed, technological societies.
